You Don't Want to Miss our October 12th CTTC Open Hunt!

The next two October 12th CTTC Open Hunt token prize packages that I just opened contain 4 items in each. The first one has 4 GP Pointers (metal detecting pinpointers). The second one has 4 Ozarks Trail Headlamps. Each of the GP Pointers will be combined with one of the Headlamps to make a total of 4 token prizes. I've used both of these when detecting. A couple of years ago, my Minelab Pro-Find 35 pinpointer finally stopped working while I was in the middle of detecting a World War II site on Brownwood's old Camp Bowie land. Luckily, I had purchased a GP Pointer as a backup in case that ever happened. The GP Pointer didn't let me down! I used it successfully until I was able to win a Garrett Pro-Pointer AT pinpointer a couple of months later at our Club's Open Hunt.
A few years ago, while I was detecting on the Texas Gulf Coast with my nephew, we decided to detect Rockport Beach after dark one night so I bought one of these Ozark Trails Headlamps at Walmart. It worked perfectly for the job at hand.

The Big Silver Keeps Arriving!

BIG SILVER Hunt token prizes still arriving in the mail for our October 12th Central Texas Treasure Club Open Hunt in Brownwood! These 3 prizes are amazing! All 3 are Proof 90% SILVER COMMEMORATIVE DOLLAR COINS FROM THE U.S. MINT. The first coin pictured commemorates the Eisenhower Centennial (1890-1990) which I think is quite appropriate considering the this year's CTTC Hunt will be held at a new location - Camp Bowie Memorial Park which is also home to the Central Texas Veterans Memorial that features dozens of monuments and plaques honoring many men who served under General Eisenhower during World War II. Between 250,000 and 400,000 Army soldiers were trained at Camp Bowie.

The second coin is another 90% SILVER PROOF COMMEMORATIVE DOLLAR COIN FROM THE U.S. MINT THAT COMMEMORATES Thomas Jefferson - Architect of Democracy.
The third coin is also a 90% SILVER PROOF COMMEMORATIVE DOLLAR COIN FROM THE U.S. MINT (2006-P) and commemorates Benjamin Franklin - Founding Father.
These prizes will be awarded to the Hunt Entrants who recover the corresponding tokens during our 1-hour Hunt where speed, rapid recovery of tokens, and the ability to cleanly refill your holes are essential to your success!

CTTC Pre-Hunt Meeting - Tuesday, September 17th at Camp Bowie Memorial Park!

Central Texas Treasure Club 2024 Open Hunt - October 12th!

At our last regular monthly meeting, Members decided to hold our next Central Texas Treasure Club Pre-Hunt Meeting on Tuesday, September 17th at 6:00 p.m. at our new Hunt site - Camp Bowie Memorial Park, across from the Hospital, in Brownwood. Members who qualified for the opportunity to win a valuable 1923 Brilliant Uncirculated Peace silver dollar, at the meeting, can win it simply by turning in the most money from Gold Coin Raffle ticket sales and Hunt Sponsors' donations at this Pre-Hunt Meeting! Whether you made the qualified list or not, you're still urged to turn in your ticket and Sponsor proceeds at the Pre-Hunt Meeting so we have time to order Hunt token prizes with the money and pay for the enormous amount of silver coins that will be seeded in the field.
As always, non-members are also encouraged to attend. You may turn in your Early Bird Entries, Sponsor our Hunt with a donation, or join our Club at this special meeting. You can find printable copies of our Hunt flyer/registration form and our CTTC 2024 Gold Coin Raffle flyer in our Club's Facebook group's Files section or you can request yours by emailing us at: centraltexastreasureclub@gmail.com. Time is running out for us to order Hunt prizes and get them back so it's critically important that you mail in your Entries and Raffle ticket donations as soon as possible.

Weather's Perfect! Get out there and find some treasure!

We're finally getting much-needed rain and moderate temperatures in the Central Texas area so the weather is perfect for metal detecting and treasure hunting! Although, this time of year, our Club pages focus a lot on our upcoming Open Hunt, we must never forget that our main purpose is educating people on this amazing hobby and getting outdoors and enjoying it ourselves! For me, this is the best time of the year for detecting and I intend to enjoy it fully! I hope each of you will too.
Some photos from the past.
  1. My metal detecting partner and CTTC Co-Huntmaster Caiden Tyler with a beautiful Gulf sign he found a couple of years ago while we were detecting an old permission site.
  2. Our Members metal detecting during our 2023 CTTC Fall Picnic at an area city park where we have permission for our Members to detect.
  3. Finds I made in Brownwood in a 2-hour detecting outing in November 2019. Pictured is a beautiful 10k gold necklace with over 100 stones that I found that day. The necklace alone paid for my Tesoro Mojave detector TWICE over!
