IMPORTANT PRE-HUNT MEETING!
I've
scheduled our first 2025 CTTC Pre-Hunt Meeting for Wednesday, August
20th, from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. at the Brownwood Public Library's Carnegie
Room. Let me explain why this meeting is so important. Due to a mix-up
of funds spent, last week I learned that our Club's bank balance was
short about $1400 due to an unrecorded check. I was counting on that
money to pay for over half of this year's seeded silver! So, as of
right now, we have purchased NONE of the silver from our main seller for
this Hunt and after ordering prize packages from Garrett and Minelab,
we only have about the mandatory minimum amount in our account to cover
emergency operating expenses as required by our By-Laws.
Only
Early Bird Entry Fees and Gold Coin Raffle money received early are
earmarked for seeded silver and other old coins for the Hunt. Every
dollar of Sponsors donations goes to buy prizes for each particular Hunt
Sponsor and can't be used to purchase anything else including seeded
coins.
Right now, we only have received 30 Early Bird Entries whereas in previous years, we've had between 40-50 in at this point.
We're
therefore calling on EVERY dues-paid Member to do YOUR part this year.
That means you're expected to get your Early Bird Entry fee to me, if
you haven't already done so, no later than next week's Pre-Hunt Meeting.
We need you to sell as many Gold Coin Raffle tickets as you can BEFORE
the Pre-Hunt Meeting or turn the proceeds and ticket stubs in to me
before next Wednesday if you can't make the meeting. AND we need EACH
of our Members to recruit Hunt Sponsors and accept their donations and
turn them in at the meeting. Several of us have already done these
basic things and we will continue to do so right up until the Hunt but
relying on other Members to pick up your slack isn't good enough this
year! In order to be on track to purchase the same amount of seeded
silver that we had the past few years, we need to take in AT LEAST
$1,000 IN EARLY BIRD FEES & GOLD COIN RAFFLE TICKET SALES BY THE END
OF THE PRE-HUNT MEETING!
You can look at it this way - for every Member or non-member entrant
who doesn't turn in their Early Bird Entry fees before the Hunt, there
will be $25 less in silver coins seeded in the Hunt Site. I also urge
those non-members who plan to enter this Hunt to get their Early Bird
Entries in the mail NOW or turn them in at this Pre-Hunt Meeting! If
you don't have a printer available (printable copies are available in our Facebook group's Files), simply write your required information on an index
card or a piece of paper and mail it with your check or money order.
Please include payment for whatever number of Gold Coin Raffle tickets
you want to buy with your Hunt Fee. For every Member that doesn't do
their part in selling Raffle tickets, there will be that amount (of
missed sales) in silver coins to be seeded this year. So far, we've
maintained a nice number of Hunt Sponsors and a few of our Members have
done their share or more than their share of recruiting Hunt Sponsors
for this Hunt but we need to keep pushing. The success or failure of
this year's Hunt depends on each of you!
Don't
use the old trite excuses to get out of doing your part to help our
Club. You DO know people to sell Raffle tickets to and you DO patronize
businesses that you can recruit Hunt Sponsors from! We have more than
40 Dues-Paid Members (that number is actually about 75 or so including
Family Memberships). Let's assume we could get each of those 40 Members
to turn in their Early Bird Entries now - that's $1,000 right there.
Next, assume that each Member sold or bought $100 in Gold Coin Raffle
tickets by the Pre-Hunt Meeting - that's another $4,000 that would pay
for more silver seeded coins than we've ever had before! Now assume
each of those 40 Members recruited only ONE Basic Hunt Sponsor for the
minimum donation of $25 - that's another $1,000 in prize tokens that
could be buried. Contact me if you need Raffle tickets or Sponsorship
Flyers.
There you have it! It's all up to you!
I expect to see you at the Pre-Hunt Meeting with your pockets bulging with cash!
