Thank You, John Southworth!

We owe a debt of gratitude to our Club's longtime friend and supporter John Southworth who has greatly helped our Club ever since my first year as President in 2018! For this year's Central Texas Treasure Club's Open Hunt, John made a Hunt Sponsorship donation which was used to purchase TWO of the BU 1921 Morgan Silver Dollars that will token prizes for this year's Hunt Entrants to compete for. He also bought some Gold Coin Raffle tickets. The profit from the sale of these tickets will also be spent on Hunt prizes! Let John know that you appreciate his support of our Club and our Hobby!

Thank You, Central Texas Medical Clinic - Returning CTTC Hunt Sponsor!

"Thank you!" to Central Texas Medical Clinic and our CTTC Member Michael Schultz for their generous CTTC Hunt Sponsorship donation which allowed us to purchase TWO Brilliant Uncirculated 1921 Morgan Silver Dollars which will be included in the 12 BU Morgan and Peace Silver Dollars our Central Texas Treasure Club will be giving away as token prizes after our 2024 CTTC Open Hunt in Brownwood on October 12th. We've never given away this many old silver dollars before!

This donation makes a total, so far, of 7 of these valuable coins that we have Sponsors for so we still need some new Hunt Sponsors to step up and cover the cost of the remaining 5. A business can donate $50 for the price of one silver dollar (valued at between $64-$78) or for a $100 donation, you can purchase 2 of them under your business or individual name.
SUPPORT OUR SPONSORS! THEY SUPPORT OUR CLUB & HOBBY!

Tobacco Treasure & Fun Parlor of Brownwood - Returning CTTC Hunt Sponsor!

Thank You to returning Central Texas Hunt Sponsor for 2024 Tobacco Treasure & Fun Parlor at Main and West Baker Streets in downtown Brownwood!
They donated the money used to purchase this beautiful Brilliant Uncirculated 2004 Thomas Alva Edison 90% silver dollar coin. The value of this commemorative silver dollar is about $65! It will be a token prize at this year's Open Hunt in Brownwood. This silver dollar will not be counted as one of the twelve BU Morgan and Peace silver dollars that we'll have as token prizes this year. We already have Sponsors for 7 of those 12 coins so 5 more are available. A business or individual may become a CTTC 2024 Hunt Sponsor by donating $50 cash for one of the silver dollars or $100 for two of them. Keep this in mind when recruiting CTTC Hunt Sponsors.

SPECIAL PRE-HUNT MEETING - TUESDAY, AUGUST 27TH!

CTTC SPECIAL PRE-HUNT MEETING!

Tuesday, August 27th, Carnegie Room of the Brownwood Public Library in Brownwood from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. Members and non-members are invited!
We hold a couple of these Pre-Hunt Meetings every year before our big CTTC Open Hunt in order to raise and collect the funds needed to purchase token prizes and silver coins to seed in the field. Members are urged to turn in all the money you've raised for our CTTC Gold Coin Raffle, your Early Bird Entry Fees, and prizes or money received from our 2024 CTTC Hunt Sponsors so far. Others may purchase Gold Coin Raffle tickets, turn in your Early Bird fees and registration forms. Business owners can donate money or prizes at this meeting to become 2024 CTTC Hunt Sponsors.
This is a very important meeting as we are waaay behind on Early Bird Entries and Gold Coin Raffle ticket sales for this late in the year. Few Early Bird Entries, Gold Coin Raffle ticket sales, and Sponsors mean fewer valuable prizes we can award to winners. We must purchase the prizes and silver coins well in advance of the Hunt so that we allow sufficient time for shipping and for our Co-Huntmasters to have time to process them once they arrive.
We need YOUR HELP to make our 2024 CTTC Open Hunt our best ever!
Thank you!

“Old, Does Not Necessarily Mean Obsolete!”

A reminder that our dues-paid Members-Only 7th Annual Old School vs New Tech Competition will be held in November. During recent years, our Old School Team (using detectors 25 years-old or older) has been severely outnumbered by the New Tech Team so we desperately need to add more Members for the OS Team this year! Reading this excellent post hopefully will inspire some of you to join us.

CTTC 43rd Birthday Regular Monthly Meeting - Tuesday, August 6th!

I welcome ALL of you to come to the 43rd Birthday Meeting of our Central Texas Treasure Club this Tuesday, August 6th at 6:30 p.m. at the old Early Chamber of Commerce Bldg. at 104 E. Industrial Blvd. in Early Texas!
I want to offer a bold challenge to everyone reading this message. Since I took office as Club President in 2018, our largest meeting attendance has been 38 people. I'd like for us to top that number at this meeting. I want our Members to bring their family members and guests and I want all non-Members who have an interest in history and/or metal detecting/treasure hunting to attend!
Here are some good reasons to come. We will have free refreshments including a birthday cake, we'll hold our regular Finds-of-the-Month Contest where Members will display their best metal detected finds for this past month and everyone will get to vote on which finds they think are the best, we'll be accepting Early Bird Entries for our big 2024 CTTC Open Hunt on October 12th, dues-lapsed Members will be able to get current on their dues, we'll hold our regular door prize drawing for several nice prizes including a 90% silver Walking Liberty Half Dollar and everyone is allowed to purchase tickets at $1 donation for each, business owners can become CTTC Hunt Sponsors by donating cash or prizes, and you can purchase as many CTTC Gold Coin Raffle tickets as you want for a chance to win one of more of the 3 valuable coins we'll be giving away after our Open Hunt on October 12th!
CTTC SILVER PEACE DOLLAR FUNDRAISING RAFFLE!
Tickets for this Raffle will be $2 each and both Members and non-members may purchase as many tickets as you want. The catch is that these tickets will ONLY be sold during our August 6th and September 3rd regular monthly CTTC meetings! The silver dollar will be raffled off near the end of the September 3rd meeting when we hold our other usual raffles. So to buy tickets, you must attend at least one of these meetings. All money collected will go to benefit the Central Texas Treasure Club.
I also have a couple of SURPRISE SPECIAL GUESTS who plan to attend and give a brief program at the end of this meeting!
