Central Texas Treasure Club Annual Picnic & Hunt - October 26th!

 

HOLD ON! Central Texas Treasure Club's October Fun isn't over yet!

Central Texas Treasure Club's Annual Members & Families-Only Picnic & Hunt will be held on Saturday, October 26th, beginning at 10:00 a.m., at Brownwood's Camp Bowie Memorial Park where we just held our big Open Hunt!

We will gather there at 10:00, visit with other Members while Co-Huntmaster Joshua Furry prepares the hot dogs, we'll eat lunch about 11:00, and then Members can metal detect the park for 90 minutes. In addition to Camp Bowie relics and leftover silver and other old coins from the Open Hunt, I will also bury a prize token redeemable for a beautiful 90% Silver 1993 Proof James Madison Silver Dollar for participants to hunt for!

Not yet a CTTC Member? Don't worry. Joining our Club is easy! You can find a printable copy of our CTTC Membership Application in our Facebook group's Files section. Annual Dues are only $20 for Individuals and $25 for Family Memberships which grant all Membership benefits to every member of your immediate family. CTTC Membership benefits include being able to participate in all Members-Only activities like our Annual CTTC Picnic & Hunt, our Annual Old School vs New Tech Competition in November, our Christmas Party, our Annual CTTC April Surprise Hunt, plus any additional hunts and activities our Huntmasters arrange. Our 2024 CTTC Open Hunt was Amazing!

Yesterday's CTTC Open Hunt was as near perfect as it could be! 97 Entrants and I believe everyone left happy...again. Our new Hunt Site, on the historical site of World War II Camp Bowie in Brownwood, was a BIG HIT. Some hunters even found some WW II Camp Bowie relics to take home with them.  Please check out our Central Texas Treasure Club Facebook page for reviews and photos.

Last Pre-Hunt Meeting & October 12th CTTC Open Hunt Details!

Our Central Texas Treasure Club will hold our last Pre-Hunt Meeting before Saturday's BIG HUNT at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 8th, at our New Hunt Site - Camp Bowie Memorial Park, across from Hendricks Hospital in Brownwood.  This will be your last chance, if you haven't already mailed in your Early Bird Entries to turn them in to be eligible to win the $50 cash Early Bird Drawing during the Prize Awards immediately following Saturday's Hunt.  Members need to turn in your proceeds from Gold Coin Raffle ticket sales and Sponsors' prizes at this meeting too.

Annual Seeded Hunt

NEW LOCATION

October 12th, Brownwood Tx

We will go over the rules the day of the hunt, but they are pretty much common sense rules. This is a no frills, low entry fee hunt.

If you find one token, you’ll get your fee back in prizes. Last year we seeded about 120 tokens. Some prizes are valued at several hundred dollars.

Date of Hunt: October 12th, 2024

Where: NEW LOCATION - Camp Bowie Memorial Park- Brownwood Texas

Registration: Begins at 9:00 AM

Hunt: 10:00-11:00 AM

Cost: $25 to hunt

Raffle: We’ll sell tickets for our gold coin raffle so bring some extra cash. They are $5 each or 5 for $20.

We will also have raffles for other great items

Bring a chair as seating is limited.

Some refreshments will be available (drinks & snacks)

Bathrooms are onsite.

Have fun!!

This hunt will go on rain or shine. Bring a raincoat and a jacket just in case. If severe weather happens, we’ll wait it out and then proceed with the hunt.

Tokens: The prize tokens are stamped and painted a certain color. The tokens this year will be stamped modern quarters, nickels and copper pennies. This will slow down the hunt and help even out the playing field.

There should be over 100 tokens buried.

Rules:

Hunt will start at 10:00 AM sharp so don’t be late as we won’t wait on you.

No digging shovels permitted. Handheld diggers, screwdrivers, trowels, etc are allowed. Coins will be just under the surface.

Cover all holes and pick up any trash. Failure to do so could result in a ban for future club hunts.

Headphones are recommended, but not required

If you want to help seed the coins, show up about 8. We always need volunteers.

Additional rules may be announced at the hunt

Hunt Area:

The hunt area will have a flagged perimeter. The coins will be buried the morning of the hunt by volunteers. We will section off the hunt area to divide the coins up evenly. If a volunteer is hunting, they cannot start hunting in the section they seeded and will have to wait until a set amount of time has passed before checking that area.

Prize Tokens: I will personally seed the prize tokens equally among the sections, as I will not be hunting. Myself along with several non hunting volunteers will randomly draw numbers to give each prize a number.

At the conclusion of the hunt, we’ll all meet at the memorial to hand out prizes and the gold coins.

This is by no means a perfect hunt, and we are human. So any issues that arise during the hunt will be dealt with through the club members. We appreciate your understanding.

Get familiar with your detector as this hunt is about speed. You don’t want to have unexpected issues with your detector the morning of the hunt.

And most of all, enjoy the hunt and mingle with the other hunters.

Our New Historic CTTC Open Hunt Site!

 T-Minus 10 days until we kick off our 43rd Annual Central Texas Treasure Clubs Open Hunt! Lots of great prizes are to be had including silver, detectors, digging equipment, AND MORE! Our new location is covered with Military memorials and vehicles such as tanks, artillery, a Huey, and a Willys Jeep. It is also located in what was the heart of Historic Camp Bowie, one of Americas biggest bases during WW2.
